Largest Natural Gas Engine Order to Date Placed By DTC
October 15, 2008 – India is mitigating its dependence on petroleum thanks to steps taken by the Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) to introduce 3,125 natural gas buses to Delhi's streets. These 230 horsepower B Gas Plus engines are manufactured by Cummins India Ltd (CIL), licensed by Cummins Westport Inc.'s (CWI), and then operated by DTC who already operates over 3,000 CNG buses throughout Delhi. Peterbilt Motors Company Partners with Westport Innovations to Produce LNG Truck Models
October 14, 2008 – With an increasing interest in Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) and clean vehicle technology, Peterbilt Motors Company has partnered with Westport Innovations to offer three new LNG configurations on its Models 387, 386, and 367. Certain Peterbilt aerodynamic and vocational vehicles will come in natural gas versions as part of their commitment to reducing harmful emissions while providing the performance and economics that their customers need. Elgin Sweeper Introduces a Clean Fuel Alternative for Street Sweepers
October 7, 2008 – Elgin Sweeper, a street sweeper manufacturer, has upgraded the very popular Pelican three-wheeled broom sweeper to run on either compressed natural gas (CNG), liquefied natural gas (LNG), or propane (LPG). The Pelican features the Cummins B5.9-195G engine, which is certified to EPA and CARB standards, and performs with the same efficiency and rapidity as its predecessor. PG&E Cleans Port of Oakland With Cold Ironing Technology
October 1, 2008 - Pacific Gas and Electric Company today announced the first-ever successful demonstration of liquid natural gas (LNG) "Cold Ironing" at the Port of Oakland, the fourth busiest container port in the United States. For more information, please click here.
