Georgia Fleet Begins Converting to Natural Gas Vehicles
October 29th, 2014 - The municipal fleet in Douglas, Ga., will soon be converting six of its vehicles to run on compressed natural gas (CNG). Initial plans call for five Dodge Chargers and one Freightliner truck to make the shift to CNG. The city will be looking into converting additional vehicles in the future. READ MORE >

Ryder Signs Its Largest Natural Gas Lease Deal in North America with C.A.T.
October 24th, 2014 - Ryder System, Inc. (NYSE: R), a leader in commercial fleet management and supply chain solutions, announced today that C.A.T. Inc. (formally Canadian American Transportation, Inc.) has signed a full-service lease agreement for 100 compressed natural gas (CNG) sleeper tractors. C.A.T., a truckload carrier based in Coteau-du-Lac, Quebec, Canada, will use the trucks in its delivery fleet that travels from Montreal, Canada to Laredo, Texas. READ MORE >

Schuylkill County Commissioners Grant for Building Highridge Natural Gas Station
October 21st, 2014 - Compressed natural gas (CNG) will soon be available for the trucking industries at the Highridge Business Park, in Pennsylvania. Frank Zukas, president of Schuylkill Economic Development Corporation, said work started about three weeks ago on a $1 million truck service plaza that will allow trucks to fuel up using compressed natural gas. Clean Energy Launches Natural Gas Vapor Barrier System
October 16th, 2014 - Clean Energy Fuels Corp. has launched a new low-cost separation and vapor containment system for natural gas vehicle maintenance and storage facilities. NY Transit Fleet Buying 20 Compressed Natural Gas Buses
October 15th, 2014 - Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority (NFTA), the transit agency serving Buffalo, N.Y., and the surrounding area, is acquiring 20 Nova LFS buses powered by compressed natural gas (CNG). Nova Bus says the initial $11 million contract has an option to expand to 166 CNG buses over the next five years. READ MORE >

150 CNG New Flyers for Houston Metro
October 13th, 2014 - “We’re in the process,” says Doug Peck, maintenance support director with Houston Metro, explaining that the agency has ordered 50 CNG-fueled New Flyer buses for 2015 delivery beginning this coming spring – and 100 for 2016. The agency currently operates 438 hybrid electric buses and coaches, with both Allison and BAE Systems drives, he told Fleets and Fuels, out of an overall fleet of approximately 1,240.READ MORE >
